The project team of “QMC” LLC has successfully developed a conceptual mine closure plan for the Ovoot Tolgoi mine of “SouthGobi Sands” LLC.
In the process of developing the plan, extensive research was conducted, reviewing reports from international organizations, academic studies, legal and regulatory frameworks applicable both internationally and in Mongolia, as well as widely used methodologies for mine closure and rehabilitation. Additionally, cost estimation methods for mine closure and financial assurance instruments commonly used worldwide were analyzed.
The plan was formulated based on the company’s existing technical documentation, aligning with these materials, conducting thorough assessments, and incorporating QMC’s expert recommendations.
